DESCRIPTION:The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is hosting their Annual Citizens Firearms Safety Training Class on Saturday, May 11, 2024. It begins at 8:00 am at the Monroe County Justice Center. All attendees will be required to submit to a background check which requires two forms of identification. You must be 21 years of age or older and live or work in Monroe County. The course will cover firearm use, proficiency, and safety. There is no cost to attend this training. Attendees are required to provide their own legal handgun, belt, holster, eye and ear safety equipment, along with 100-150 rounds of ammunition. The Deadline for turning in applications is May 3, 2024. Applications can be picked up and turned in at the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office at 145 L.
