What’s better than a day with your family seeing what the City of Forsyth has to offer? From indoor attractions to outdoor adventures, great food and shopping, nothing is lacking here!
Vacations don’t need to cost a fortune to have a good time and Forsyth has an abundance of things to do to bring you and your family closer together.
If you are in the mood to spend a day in the sun and feel the breeze on your face, we have some wonderful trails and attractions for #whattodoinforsythga.

1. Nature brings Nurture: Rum Creek WMA (706-595-4222) is a wonderful place to visit with a beautiful hiking trail and a peaceful lake you can take your family canoeing on. And if you love fishing, Lake Juliette is a 3,600-acre reservoir operated by Georgia Power that is surrounded by the Rum Creek WMA and is a great place to fish and duck watch! Call to confirm availability, fishing and boating license may be required
2. Visit a State Park: High Falls State Park (478-993-3053) is a stunning destination named for tumbling cascades on the Towaliga River. Not only is this a beautiful place to hike or have a picnic, you can swim and even play some miniature golf to pass the day away.
3. Visit Hamlin Hills Farm: Located on I-75 off of Exit 185, known for its barbeque and charming petting zoo, Hamlin Hills is a great place to explore the farm equipment, helicopter, old cars, and more! Seasonal crops are available to pick on your own, pick up some moonshine, or enjoy some of the live events they host. (844-FUN-FARM)
4. Georgia Grown Goods: Dickey Farms is Georgia’s oldest operating peach packing house. Visitors can watch the peaches come into the packing house straight from the orchards and learn about how the peaches go through production before being shipped to grocery stores. Sample fresh produce, ice cream, a retro soda, and other Georgia-grown goods.
5. Don’t let the Farm Fun end there: At Twin Oaks Fun Farm, just off Exit 193, you can pick your own strawberries or veggies and taste delicious homemade ice cream. Get to know some friendly farm animals, learn about bees at the beehive exhibit, or plan a group trip for a tour.
6. Forsyth Foxhunt: One of our more subtle outdoor adventures that is so much fun to do as a family is our little Fox Hunt. This scavenger hunt is in our downtown area and consists of bronze fox statues hidden all over. This free hunt is fun for all ages and the clues can be picked up at our Welcome Center!
7. Cool off!: With Spring bringing in the warmer weather, take the kids to cool off at the Splash Pad! Relax in the shade while they play in the water! (478-994-5649) Call ahead for opening dates.
