The Conley Building (Historic Stone Train Depot C. 1858)

Now known as the Conley Building, the old stone depot completed in 1858 is one of the oldest train depots in Georgia. It was built for the Macon and Western Railroad, and after the brick depot was built several years later, the stone depot was used for freight. Through these doors also passed bales of cotton from Monroe County destined for cotton mills in New England and abroad. From time to time, this building now houses special exhibits.
