Monroe County History Museum (Historic Brick Train Depot c. 1899

The brick train depot, added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2013, was built circa 1899 to replace the older stone depot nearby. Still standing today, it houses the Monroe County Historical Society and the Monroe County Museum and Genealogy Room.

Monroe County-Forsyth War Memorial

This memorial standing at Courthouse Square commemorates the World War I centennial.  It reads:  “Dedicated to all Monroe Countians who served our country and in memory of those who made the supreme sacrifice.  They died that others may live free.  Erected 2010 by the citizens of Monroe County.”
